Your child is turning five years old and it’s likely that you are as excited to celebrate with a birthday party as they are. By this age they are in kindergarten and have the opportunity to invite the entire class or just a few close friends. Planning a birthday party can be simple and stress-free if you have a good plan in place.
Below are a few key steps to ensure that the birthday child, guests, and even adults have a memorable day.
PLANNING THE PARTY
Fifth birthday party planning does not have to be a challenge thanks our experience helping to plan over 3,000 kids’ parties! Here are a few tips when planning the party. Remember, more tips are included in each BLUEPRINT plan.
Give your child choices
It’s a good idea to let your child have a say in their party, but don’t leave the decisions all up to them with open ended questions like “What do you want to do?” Instead, guide choices with specific questions like “Would you like a Field Day Party or a Dinosaur Theme?” This way they can be your willing helper in a manner that is age appropriate. It is a productive and stress-free way to bond with your child as you work on this exciting day together.
Picking a location
These days families are enjoying at-home parties or planning the event at a park or beach if the weather is warm. The location of your party will determine how many people you can invite and what type of theme your 5-year-old will have. If your party is outdoors, you have the opportunity to invite more guests and play games where the kids can be spread out. Public parks and beaches have their own set of rules so be sure to check before sending out the invitations.
The guest list
Once you know your location, then you can decide how many people can be invited. Your child may want to have a big party or just a small group of friends. Be sure to respect the wishes of your child so that they have their dream day. At five-year-old parties some parents might choose to stay, so you may need to take that into consideration.
Games and Activities
Making sure that everyone has a good time can seem overwhelming. That’s why BLUEPRINT plans provide you with all of the supplies that you need for a fun filled afternoon. Each plan outlines various high energy games, what you need, and how to play. A signature of BLUEPRINT plans is that every game is inclusive, and no one feels left out…ever!
